Project Overview
In 2023, Ansir was tasked with designing and implementing the outbound baggage handling system to comply with new government regulations, incorporating standard 3 compliant screening machines and automatic tag readers (ATRs) to reconcile bag tags and sort bags to their allocated make-up positions. Modifications included updates to conveyor lines, control systems, and the addition of a third make-up carousel with a feedline, structural walkways, and access ladders to enhance system flexibility and resilience. The Level 3 screening room was reconfigured to automate the re-input of cleared bags, eliminating manual handling, and the entire system underwent a full SCADA upgrade for improved performance and monitoring.

Working at a brownfield airport site presents unique challenges due to pre-existing infrastructure, environmental considerations, and operational constraints. Our team efficiently navigates the needs of multiple stakeholders and works within the limited space of an operational airport, ensuring smooth collaboration. Additionally, we manage the movement of materials and equipment with precision, avoiding disruptions and meeting tight timelines to minimise downtime.
